Rap mogul Russell Simmons suggested banning the words “bitch,” “ho” and “nigger” from the recording industry. He said they should be considered “extreme curse words.”
My biggest complaint about banning these words from rap songs and the recording industry is that “banning” the words from the industry is a misnomer. The call to “ban” the words is actually a call to “bleep” the words out in the “clean” versions of the songs.
What does the “bleep” do?
Don’t you get it Mr. Simmons? The issue is not only with the sound the word makes, the problem is the meaning behind the word. The word reflects an attitude. The attitude reflects, as you and so many others have pointed out, the way things really are. The problem is that the word reflects the way things really are.
You can’t “bleep” an attitude.

Bleeping “crap” songs only draws attention to the bleeped word, and people usually think that word began with an “F” (like the report cards those crap artists had in school)
all I have to say is we live in america, we have freedom of speech dont we???
o, we dont? well why the bleep not???
no, ok really enough with my joke here is what I have to say: we do live in america, we are told we have freedom of speech so… where is it? i dont listen to rap music but i do listen to rock, and they get bleeped too! its crazy to me! i think we should have family friendly radio stations and we should have stations where they can play the whole song, you dont want your kid to hear the F word listen to AM radio!
so all in all i do agree, i just also think there should be AM stations that play family friendly music… like the disney music channel for those kids that shouldnt hear the songs… so the little ones can have music too!
