• The Brightness And Intensity Of New Headlights

    Overkill. Ridiculous. Dangerous. Obnoxious. Painful.
In addition, anyone else notice the increase recently in the number of inconsiderate, self-absorbed asses driving the freeways with their brights on? In Cali it’s getting out of control.

    • it's astonishing how far a smooth demeanor, cleverly crafted platitudes, and news media adoration can get you with the gullible.

    • she's a manipulator and you're being manipulated. this is the root. confront her at the root. perhaps no one ever has. she may not be very self aware and could be grateful to you for holding up a mirror, so to speak. but, if she simply shifts manipulation tactics in response, move on and don't look back.

    • as evidenced by your complaint, fear and bitterness go hand in hand. instead of the anger, you might want to do a bit deeper contemplation of what it is that others have that you lack.

    • i'm guessing that you had the misfortune of encountering a chump that needs to be fired by chili's and that if you were to inform corporate of this incident that that would be the result. i can't believe that this is a chili's policy, but if so, they just lost my business. unbelievable.

    • not so bad. what if they called you "fat tire" or worse... "arrogant bastard" actually, it is pretty bad corona is awful beer.

    • excuse me if you're already bigtime and i just don't know it, but you got a future here. different...? uh huh.... "reporting from my toilet, this is david spates. back to you in the studio" don't know if that's going to fly when you make the majors. seriously though, that was really well organized, edited, and presented.

    • it really doesn't matter what the group identity is, if it's based in factors simply incidental to birth, and not in beliefs arrived at through personal thought, exploration, intuition, insight, and etc, it will invariably alter one's perceptions and thought processes negatively. it's essentially trbalism.

    • this is one couple. they could have been the johnsons. as far as having concern about reinforcing stereotypes, this can be very problematic and negative. take the case of the white liberal wracked with white guilt, who out of this kind of self centered concern, does harm through idiotic social policies to those whom he is obsessed with proving that he isn't racist, or nativist, or sexist, and on and on.

    • over-sensitivity to words aside, how do you defend a guy that would do this to his own son rather than simply making an adjustment in his word choices? how cruel, base, and selfish is that? apart from any other considerations, this is a despicable wretch of a person.

    • right. the theory being that if it's free, and provided by socialism, it therefore must be valid and needed.

    • this award has been a joke since arafat won it. arafat! and so now gore wins it for his absurd film, adding absurdity to absurdity. even if what he's doing was legit, can anyone explain what the hell it has to do with working for peace? this is really laughable. so many of the formerly great institutions of western civilization have been despoiled by fools.

    • man, i have friends like this. never an original thought. fwd fwd fwd fwd fwd fwd fwd fwd............... sometimes with literally full pages of eddresses. and people wonder why they get so much spam. unbelievable bonehead semicomatosis someone make it stop

    • simpson's arrest is the biggest feel-good story to come along in a while. nobody got hurt. nobody died. i was grinning all day. my smile faded after hearing of his absurdly low bail amount and release. by the way, i hear jackie childs is considering taking the case.

    • grammar

    • it's a losing battle. when i contemplate the plight of english teachers in this devolving culture i sob uncontrollably.

    • an "outdoor daylight" option that is simple high contrast black and white seems such an obvious need. the problem is that vampire-cubicle-nerd developers who only go out at night are designing these things.

    • this is not photoshopping, this is cropping.

    • this just proves that spammers are no dummies and that they rely on them, and, that although hard to believe at this point, there are still plenty.

    • thanks for this. drives me crazy. the other one is referring to a dog's instinctual pack-animal bonding and "loyalty" as "love", or even worse, "unconditional love". love is human. i love dogs, but diminishing the uniqueness of humanity is inappropriate and unnecessary in evidencing that love.

    • "tonto" means stupid. tonto's comment comports with this fact.

    • brilliant. kudos.

    • the problem isn't your girlfriend calling, loved ones should feel free to call anytime. the problem is in your apparent reticence in simply saying, "sorry, baby, can't talk now, call you back as soon as i can. bye"

    • simple explanation. it's our name that confuses them... homosapiens. and so it's a "when in rome" kind of thing.

    • the aol and livejournal 14 year olds from the 90s evidently never grew up and have gained ascendency. it's mindbogglingly tragic.

    • on highways and surface streets you have the option of flashing the offender with your brights. most often they immediately turn the high beams off. just distracted or mindwandering. but on the freeways it's more difficult getting the message clearly to the offending driver. love audrey. everybody loves audrey.

    • what about the other seasons? hollywood is putting out crap year round. i just quit going. got tired of sitting there feeling like an idiot for having just wasted my money on some propaganda vehicle for the furtherance of any number of ever so hip and current devolutionary sociopolitical agendas.

    • michael savage often whines about being "cut off by someone passing on his right", evidently not realizing that he is exposing himself as a driver that is an inconsiderate, self-important clueless ass who can't figure out that he's in the wrong lane.

    • i don't get how parents can watch any television with their kids. it's a non-stop assualt on their innocence. the ads you mention are actually less offensive than many in that they are presented using language and refrences beyond the understanding of young kids. the average sitcom is far worse, and the "highlights" of these--apparently the sleaziest moments--are shown constantly. this is a culture in serious decline.

    • james, cluelessness this thick is impenetrable. props for your optimism in giving it a shot though.

    • i think you have it exactly backwards. if they would just eliminate the despicable dreck you refer to as "a class reporting", and just played the music...now that would be an improvement

    • no patience has made essentially the comment i was going to make. it's really fascinating to see some of the unexpected and puzzling annoyances that some experience.

    • fred said it all. she holds up a mirror to the left and they don't even recognize themselves or what she's up to. it's hilarious.

    • brilliantly crafted response. careful, though, your mama might have walked in just as you were composing it.

    • pretty ungrateful attitude, that. they provide you a free service and you complain that you're not getting all that paid subscribers get. how do you suppose bandwidth and operating expense should be covered? they should just give you what you want out of the kindness of their heart and at their expense?

    • why this would bother anyone is beyond me. as with anything, rude behavior is most often about how you use a thing, not the thing itself. in addition to the star rating as is, there should be one for complaining about the complaint. i would tick it in this case.

    • imagined danger serves as a distraction for those too timid or clueless to acknowledge and face the real ones.

    • anyways informations softwares would of, could of, should of

    • "...most people convicted of even the most inconsequential crimes are convicted by evidence that was something they voluntarily told or gave to the police officer." in other words, it's effective. it's a pleasant thought that while in the course of the apprehension of criminals, the occasional childish "stick it to the man" types are discomfited.

    • expecting the media to become accurately descriptive and to present honest depictions sans all the tortured pc terms and rhetoric regarding this issue would be irrational. they've become transparent to the point of silliness, and laughter is preferable to rage. however when and if the naive, and/or irrational, for whom even the transparent is opaque--such as our first commenter here--reach a certain critical mass, i won't be laughing, and the way things are going, it could happen.
