My biggest complaint about Apple releasing Safari for Windows……..
Why didn’t they do it years ago? Internet Explorer is about the most non-compliant, insecure, piece-of-garbage browser out there. Developers and designers have had to deal with it’s stupid idiosyncrasies for years. It is simply awful from a design and user standpoint.
The only rationale that I can think of for Apple waiting so long to release Safari for Windows, is that they were waiting for the critical mass of people who were just sick of IE before they did. That way everybody would switch. Well, we are sick of it.
I’m not saying that Safari doesn’t have its “issues,” because it definitely does. If Safari doesn’t become the default browser for Windows users, maybe it (along with Firefox) will teach Microsoft how to build a browser that isn’t garbage.

I work in South Korea and they absolutely have a hard on for Internet Explorer here and it’s disgusting. It’s a horrible browser. When I use my mac.. many of the sites here are “IE only” and therefore I can’t even visit certain sites due to not having IE. (I do have a legacy version for Mac from 2002, but it doesn’t work on the “newer” sites that require IE.) Yes, I’ve gone into the developer tools in Safari to emulate IE.. but there is some coding on certain Korean web pages that is SQL based (with 2005 standards!!) and those sites won’t work on anything but IE. (My work’s web pages and web databases for instance.) I hate IE and Windows with a passion.. especially after this latest North Korean cyberattack. Safari all the way! For windows and Mac..
